Grandmother survives COVID-19 hospitalization
WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Wendy Moore lives with her daughter and son-in-law and their 4 sons. In the household, only her daughter and son-in-law have been vaccinated.
Moore says when she came back positive for COVID-19, the family was shocked since she stays at home and doesn’t venture out. Moore and her 4 grandkids got COVID, but her daughter and son-in-law never did.
Moore says she had to be hospitalized due to the virus and despite being released, is still facing complications like needing an oxygen tank to help with shortness of breath.
“I was definitely worried that I wasn’t going to make it out,” says Moore. “I’ve heard so many stories of once you get in the hospital, you may not make it back out and I was really worried about that. I was really sick, pretty bad sick.”
Moore says she didn’t get vaccinated because she wanted the vaccine to have full FDA approval. Now, she says she is ready to get the vaccine as soon as she can and she encourages others to do the same.
