Grand opening set for Bluegrass Creative Market in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Bluegrass Creative Market opens this weekend in Lexington giving local artists of all kinds a chance to showcase and sell their items.

Marie Pullen, founder of Bluegrass Creative Market, says all the vendors are local artisans.

“We’ll have home decor and we’ll have lots of woodworkings,” said Pullen. “Bath and beauty products are being made. We also have several jewelry makers.”

With theCOVID-19 pandemic, Pullen says safety is top of mind for both vendors and attendees, “We’ll be following all of Governor Beshear’s requirements for being COVID-prepared. I completely relaid out the interior of the market, basically to make more space.”

Pullen says vendors and volunteers will be wearing a face mask and social distancing. “We ask that all of our guests that are five years old and up do the same thing.”

Shoppers are asked to check-in inside before browsing through the vendors by registering your cell phone number. Pullen says that way, if they reach capacity, they can text you to notify you when you will be allowed to shop inside to prevent overcrowding.

A $2 voluntary donation is being collected at the door for Shriners Children’s Hospital.

The grand opening for the market is set for Sunday, July 12 from 12-5 p.m. at Oleika Shriners located at 236 Southland Drive in Lexington. The event will take place rain or shine.

Food trucks will also be on site with food and beverage for purchase.
