Grand jury to hear David Sparks’ case next month

GARRARD, COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man accused of burying the body of Savannah Spurlock will go before a grand jury next month.

David Sparks is charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence in connection to Spurlock’s death.

Spurlock was last seen alive on January 4 leaving a Lexington bar with three men – one of them Sparks.

The body of the Richmond mother of four was found last week on property belonging to Spark’s parents in Garrard County. Police say she was naked, her feet were bound and she was wrapped in plastic trash bags and buried in a shallow grave.

Police accuse Sparks of putting her there.

The cause of Spurlock’s death has not been released.

Sparks’ case will be heard by the Garrard County grand jury on August 14. The grand jury will return indictments on August 16.
