GPD: Threat of violence at Scott Co. High School not credible
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Georgetown Police Department released a statement on Facebook Wednesday morning regarding a threat of violence directed at Scott County High School on Tuesday.
Police say the threat was immediately investigated, and that noting was found that would suggest the threat was credible.
Overnight, however, police say rumors of the threat began to proliferate around social media, and have continued into Wednesday morning. Superintendent Kevin Hub reportedly worked with officers, who re-examined the threat overnight, and again found that there was no information to substantiate the threat.
Scott County High School will remain on a normal schedule Wednesday, but officers say that there will be an increased police presence at the school.
