Governor: Kentucky still seeing troubling increase in coronavirus cases

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Governor Andy Beshear says we are still seeing troubling increases in positive coronavirus cases in the state.

He reported 536 new cases Sunday, making a total of 56,945 right now in Kentucky.

Children make up 87 of those newly infected people.

The governor also announced three new deaths Sunday, including a 96-year-old man from Fayette County.

There are now 1,060 Kentuckians who have died.

As of Sunday, there have been at least 990,957 coronavirus tests in Kentucky. The positivity rate is currently at least 4.14%. According to the governor’s office, at least 10,905 Kentuckians have recovered.
