Gubernatorial candidate denies sexual assault allegations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Republican lawmaker from East Bernstadt and candidate for governor denies sexually assaulting a woman.

In an interview with the Commonwealth Journal, a woman named Alicia Whitaker accuses Robert Goforth and a business associate of assaulting her in an apartment above Goforth’s pharmacy in Somerset about ten years ago.

Goforth says he had a “consensual” relationship with the woman before he was married and that he never assaulted her.
