Governor Bevin makes judicial appointments for Fayette Co.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Governor Matt Bevin has made judicial appointments for Fayette County.

-Elizabeth Green Messer, of Lexington, has been appointed as Circuit Judge to serve in the Family Court for Kentuckys 22nd Judicial Circuit, Division 1, according to the governor’s office.

“I am honored by Governor Bevin’s selection of me to serve as judge in the Fayette Family Court,” said Messer. “I would also like to thank Chief Justice Minton and the Judicial Nominating Commission for their confidence in recommending me. Having dedicated my career to protecting children and serving families as a prosecutor, this is an opportunity to make an even greater impact on the community I love. As judge I will continue to serve Fayette County with a commitment to justice, integrity, and compassion.”

The governor’s office says Messer will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.

-John Edward Reynolds, of Lexington, has been appointed as Circuit Judge for Kentucky’s 22nd Judicial Circuit, Division 3, according to the governor’s office.

“Governor Bevin’s appointment to the Fayette Circuit Bench is accepted with much gratitude and resolve for the opportunity to serve Fayette County,” said Reynolds. “I am thankful to both the Judicial Nominating Committee and to Governors staff for their consideration and service to our community.”

The governor’s office says Reynolds will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
