Gov. appoints family court judge for 35th Circuit, iv. 3

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Governor Matt Bevin has appointed a judge to the 35th Judicial Circuit District Family Court, Division 3, of Kentucky.

Wesley Kent Varney of Pikeville is the Governor’s pick.

Varney graduated from the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.

He was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2005 and since then he has been practicing in family court and probate court and has been working on personal injury claims.

Varney is also the primary conflict attorney for the local Public Defenders Officer in Pike County.

“I appreciate the confidence Gov. Bevin has shown in me by appointing me as Judge for 35th Judicial Circuit Family Court Judge, said Varney. I pledge to the people of Pike County that I will serve diligently and to the best of my ability.”

Judge Varney will serve until the position is filled based on the results of the November 2019 general election.
