Georgetown Toyota Plant: 10 Million & Counting

It has been a busy 26 years for the Toyota plant in Georgetown.

The plant just built its 10 millionth vehicle.

It was a Camry.

It now sits next to the first Camry ever built in Georgetown.

The Central Kentucky plant employs 7,000 people.

Toyota first hired 3,000 workers from a pool of 100,000 applicants when it opened the facility back in 1988.

The Georgetown plant is scheduled to build the first Lexus vehicles in the United States next year.

Toyota said it plans to give away the 10 millionth vehicle to an employee through a random drawing later this summer.
