Georgetown Tops IU-Southeast 78-63
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Georgetown College men’s basketball team played shorthanded, weathered several runs and improved to 2-0 with a 78-63 win Thursday night over Indiana University Southeast.
Wiley Brown’s Grenadiers (0-1) gave the No. 2 Tigers a scare, but could not pull off the upset.
For the second straight game, GC was led by Quan Poindexter, who had a game-high 18 points. Five Tigers tallied double figures. Troy Steward had 16, Darion Burns 15, Chris Coffey 12 and Trent Gilbert 11.
Georgetown returns to action at 2 pm Sunday hosting Miami University – Hamilton.
