Georgetown Police Put Out Warning About Phone Scam

GEORGETOWN, Ky (WTVQ)- Georgetown Police warn people are calling posing as Kentucky utilities workers. The police say the fakes say they’ll turn off your utilities in 15 minutes unless you put money on a prepaid credit card, outstanding bill pay, or money pak card.

Officers say they’ve been calling from this number: 1-800-455-6290.

Ignore them. You can always call your utility company to see if they’re really trying to get in touch with you.
