Georgetown PD to hold tribute for victims of violent crime

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Georgetown Police Department will be holding a tribute as part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week to honor victims of violent crime.

The Georgetown Rotary Club, the 14th Circuit Commonwealth Attorney and Johnson’s Funeral Home have created a plaque to mark the event, which will be on display to remember those that have lost their lives in violent crimes.

Everyone is invited to attend the event, which will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11th, in front of the Georgetown Police Department.  There will be a brief ceremony and a moment of silence. Attendees are welcome to bring flowers, balloons, wreaths, or other memorials to leave at the site for the duration of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, which runs from April 10 – 16.

The Georgetown Police Department is located at 550 Bourbon Street.
