Georgetown PD removes snake from home, second in three weeks
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Georgetown Police Department (GPD) is becoming the go-to snake handlers in the city.
On June 4, the GPD’s Facebook account posted about Officer J. Smith removing a rat snake that was stuck in a homeowner’s laundry room. These snakes are not as scary as they seem, but individuals should always use caution if they find one. The Black Rat Snake is non-venomous, but extra caution should be taken if unsure whether or not a snake is venomous.
Officer Smith released the snake in a safe location after the post said he had “a quick chat about trespassing.”
This is the second snake the GPD has posted about removing in three weeks. On May 19, Officer Blankenship removed a snake from a bathroom sink in a residence on North Broadway.
