Georgetown College To Layoff Faculty And Cut Majors
According to a release from the school, the steps will be taken over the next two years.
The majors that will be eliminated include French, German, Computer Science and Music.
The news release did not specify how many people would be laid-off.
President Greene acknowledged that while these actions are difficult, the longer term benefit to Georgetown College would be significant.
He emphasized that more streamlined operations provide greater opportunity for growth and cited two new academic programs, Social and Criminal Justice and Sports Administration, as already contributing to student admissions being well ahead of last year’s pace.
