Georgetown business accused of scamming customers
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A business in Georgetown has been accused of scamming customers, and now the police are getting involved.
The Georgetown Police Department is used to getting reports of things going wrong in the community, but recently a local business has been the center of several reports.
“For the last couple months, our officers have sporadically been getting complaints that a local business that does monogramming, sells t-shirts, jackets, things of that nature, had been taking orders and not supplying the merchandise,” said Assistant Chief Robert Swanigan.
Police say in the past few days, the number of complaints has increased, so they took to Facebook, asking for anyone who had fallen victim to this unnamed business to call and report it.
Just minutes after the police department made that post, the owner of The Shirt Shop on North Broadway in Georgetown commented, defending her business.
Tasha Ecklar gave her phone number, asking people to send her their addressed for shipping.
The police department says it does plan to take legal action against the store.
Watch the video above to hear what Ecklar has to say.
