Furry friends can meet Santa too

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Four-legged friends get their chance to meet the Jolly Old Elf himself this weekend in Lexington.

The University of Kentucky’s Center for Community Outreach and Promoting Animal Welfare and Services (PAWS) is holding their Santa PAWS event.

It happens Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the UK School of Art and Visual Studies located at 236 Bolivar Street.

All people and dog breeds are welcome to have their picture taken with Santa.

Donations in the form of towels, blankets, leashes and collars will be accepted for the Lexington Pit Crew, a rescue organization that caters to pit bulls and other “bully-breeds.”

PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare and Services) is a student volunteer organization that is dedicated to the welfare of animals. It is the mission of PAWS to positively impact the lives of any animal in need through volunteer efforts, educating the public, and advocating for those who need us to be their voice.
