Fugitive in stolen car arrested in Laurel Co.

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a traffic stop led to the arrest of a fugitive who was in a car that had been reported stolen.

According to a release, a Trooper pulled over a 2009 Chrysler Sebring on I-75 near the Hal Rogers Parkway exit.

During the stop, the officer realized the driver, 46-year-old Randy J. Chaney, of Celina, OH, was a wanted fugitive from Ohio and Kentucky.

The Trooper further determined that the Sebring had been reported stolen.

Chaney was arrested and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center, charged with receiving stolen property, being a fugitive from another state, and numerous traffic violations.
