Fugitive on Tennessee’s ‘Most Wanted’ list pleaded guilty Tuesday

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An accused child rapist, who is on Tennessee’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, was found Thursday evening hiding behind a refrigerator and panels in his brother’s home in London, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

A tip earlier in the day led the Laurel Sheriff’s Office Special Response Unit and the U.S. Marshal service to Mark Rasnick’s home on East 5th Street in London. Investigators say Rasnick repeatedly told them that his wanted brother, 51-year old Rick Brock, was not in the home.

Brock was found hiding in the home, according to investigators.

When Brock was being processed at the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, he reportedly assaulted an officer and tried to escape before being physically subdued, according to the sheriff’s office.

As a result, Brock was charged with resisting arrest,  3rd degree assault on a police officer, and escape.

He was wanted in Tennessee for aggravated assault with a firearm and child rape, according to investigators. Tennessee authorities listed Brock as having a violent criminal history.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, Rick James Brock pleaded guilty to Laurel County Sheriff’s Office charges which were resisting arrest, assault, and escape and is currently in the Laurel County detention center awaiting extradition back to Claiborne County Tennessee. More charges are expected in Tennessee as more victims are being identified.
