From Rupp Arena to “Pupp Arena”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The DogPound was a little bigger today than usual at S.T. Roach Gymnasium.  Paul Laurence Dunbar celebrated its first hardwood state title Wednesday.

The Dogs lost in back-to-back title games in 1993 and ’94, but got it done last Sunday at Rupp Arena, beating Doss 61-52 to bring the crown back to Lexington for the first time since Lexington Catholic won it all in 2002.

Just how big of an impact does a packed gym for game have during the season and how much did it mean to the guys to have full sections of fans this past weekend…turning Rupp Arena into “Pupp Arena?”

Hear from the Dogs in the video.
