Franklin County middle school holds emotional memorial for brothers killed in house fire
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Bondurant Middle School is honoring the lives of two teenage brothers who died in a tragic house fire last week.
A memorial service is being held Wednesday night inside the school’s gymnasium, where classmates, teachers, and staff are gathering to remember 13-year-old Bently Maxwell Fields and 15-year-old Rylan Austin Fields.
The Franklin County Coroner’s Office confirmed the boys’ identities on Monday. Their father, 44-year-old Dustin Fields, has been charged with first-degree arson. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be filed.
Bently was a student at Bondurant Middle, and school officials say Wednesday’s memorial offers the community a chance to share stories and reflect on the boys’ lives.
