Franklin County: High waters close roads, damage homes
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Franklin County is among many Central Kentucky communities dealing with high waters. The sheriff’s office is asking everyone to stay off of the roads. It says there are major flooding issues on city and county roadways.
Officials say some roads were shut down earlier today because of flooding. And high waters also damaged several homes.
Flooding was a problem on Crab Orchard Road. While levels have dropped, more rain is on the way. Katrinka Jennings has lived on the street for almost forty years. She says she has seen flooding like this only two other times. "I’m just lost with words. I never thought it was going to hit me again, just really didn’t. You know they always say flash floods, it will come up on my bottom, but this morning it just hit…and it hit bad."
