Frankfort Police Search for First Baptist Robber
Police said the man knocked on the door of First Baptist Church on Clinton Street, claiming to have left his cell phone behind after the morning service.
Investigators said he walked in and then left after he couldn’t find anything, but then came back a few minutes later.
According to police, the church’s treasurer looked up and found the man standing in the his office with a gun pointed at him.
They said the man told the treasurer to open the safe, but nothing was there.
Then, he reportedly forced the treasurer into the bathroom just before running out of the church.
Although nothing was stolen, police are considering this to be a robbery as someone was held at gunpoint for money.
They’re looking for a black male in his 20s, wearing a black suit jacket with a white sweater and sunglasses.
