Frankfort police looking for suspect in drive-by shooting

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Frankfort police are asking for help from the public, in finding the person who shot a woman multiple times during a drive-by shooting.

Frankfort police say a woman was shot multiple times just before 2 a.m. Tuesday off Holmes Street after a car driving by opened fire.

Police say the victim and another woman were standing on the side of the road near the intersection of Holmes Street and Tracy Court when the shots were fired.

Police say the woman somehow managed to get herself to Frankfort Regional Medical Center where she was then taken to UK Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Several windows in the building behind where the women were standing were shot out.

Police say they are still investigating what lead up to the shooting.

“We’re still looking into, we didn’t have a lot of information from the victim so we are going to reach out to her and reinterview her and see if maybe she has more. Hopefully they’ll be somebody that’s a witness who will step forward and help us solve the case,” said Capt. Chris Quire with the Frankfort Police Department.
