UPDATE: Frankfort man charged with murdering his father
Frankfort Police say 33-year old Camden Bell is a convicted felon now facing a murder charge
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – We’re learning new information about the shooting death of a man Thursday morning in Frankfort near a Pizza Hut. Frankfort Police tell us the man’s son — who was charged with murdering his father turned ‘himself’ into authorities yesterday. According to police, 33-year-old Camden Bell is accused of shooting his 54-year old father Walter Bell on East Main Street.
Police say Walter was found unresponsive. Around seven Thursday morning with a gunshot wound to his chest. CPR was performed before emergency crews could arrive and take him to Frankfort regional medical center where he later died from his injuries. According to police, Camden bell went to the station Thursday and agreed to talk to investigators.
“Usually we don’t get into the conversation of why there’s aggrievement or anything we are just fortunate enough that he wanted to speak with us,” says Chief Dustin Bowman of the Frankfort Police Department.
Camden Bell is charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Frankfort Police Chief Bowman says there’s still no known motive.

Investigators say 54-year old Walter Bell was found unresponsive on East Main Street on Thursday morning. He was pronounced dead.
Police say they charged 33-year old Camden Bell with Murder and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.
No circumstances or motive surrounding the murder were released by investigators.
Bell was taken to the Franklin County Regional Jail.
