Frankfort Passes Fairness Ordinance

The Frankfort City Commission has passed their fairness ordinance protecting the LGBT community from discrimination in employment, housing  and public accommodations.

The ordinance passed 3-2 Thursday morning, after an hour and a half of public comments at the Frankfort City Hall.

The commission was expected to vote on the ordinance Monday but a late amendment to the law meant the vote had to be postponed until Thursday morning.

The ordinance also creates a seven-member panel that enforces the ordinance.

Frankfort joins Lexington, Louisville, Covington and Vecco as the only cities in Kentucky with fairness ordinance.
