Frankfort keeping close eye on Kentucky River

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Frankfort community is keeping a close eye on the Kentucky River’s high waters.

It was already above its normal level Monday afternoon. Emergency management expects it to fall to around 20 feet by mid-week. But that’s still nearly 15 feet above normal. Officials also expect it to rise again because of the persistent rain.

Emergency management is asking everyone who lives along the river, and in other flood-prone areas, to keep an eye on water levels. Families should also be prepared to move to higher ground.
