Frankfort first responders replace missing toy with a labor of love

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some Frankfort firefighters proved this week that caring for your community still matters.

8-year-old Gideon from Frankfort has cerebral palsy.

His favorite toy is this water table that’s both fun and therapeutic.

Last week, the Robinson family says their homemade table disappeared from their front lawn.

That’s when Franklin County firefighters decided to help.

One day, they collected donated materials from stores and built him a new one.

Once completed…Members of the department delivered the new table, some toy and a lot of smiles to Gideon’s house.

“It was an amazing blessing to know that coming out of Covid, where we were all locked away that community is still a priority for people,” says Chuck Robinson, Gideon’s adoptive parent.

Firefighters say they spent about 7 hours building it in between normal emergency calls and station duties.
