Fort Campbell hosting popular endurance race

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) – Fort Campbell is hosting an endurance and obstacle course race later this month.

The three-mile Spartan Race on Oct. 24 is open to military members and the general public. The obstacle course races have become popular in recent years around the country.

The course on the Cassidy Combined Arms Collective Training Facility will feature more than 20 obstacles including a barbed wire crawl, water pit, wall climb and fire jump.

The post will also host a mini obstacle course designed for children ages 4 to 13.

Racers and spectators can preregister online on the post’s website or at www.spartan.com, or sign up the day of the race at Fort Campbell beginning at 6 a.m.
