Former Woodford Co. teacher jailed for sex with student suing state
WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A former Woodford County teacher behind bars for having sex with a student is suing the Attorney General and the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
Lindsey Jarvis, 34, says she should be eligible for parole because she finished a sex offender treatment program before she was sentenced. She says she was told that would count toward the state’s requirement that all sex offenders complete a 24-month program.
A spokeswoman for the Kentucky Department of Corrections says the Department cannot comment on ongoing litigation, but did provide ABC 36 with the Department’s motion to dismiss the case.
The Department argues the case should be dismissed because Jarvis is a convicted sex offender who has not completed the requirements of Kentucky law that would allow her parole.
