Former Williamsburg Housing Authority director charged

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – The former director of the Williamsburg Housing Authority is accused of stealing money from the organization.

Williamsburg police have charged 52-year-old James Lovitt with abuse of the public trust and forgery.

According to the News Journal, the charges come after an investigation into the” misappropriations with finances” involving the Williamsburg Housing Authority by the Williamsburg Police Department.

Lovitt is accused of taking more than $10,000 but less than $50,000 from the Williamsburg Housing Authority’s account.
