Former UK cheerleader dies in New Jersey car crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- According to the Kentucky Kernel, former UK cheerleader Jahmir “Hero” Scott died Tuesday.

The newspaper says that NJ.com reports that 22-year-old Scott, got out of his car shortly after midnight on the New Jersey Turnpike after it had become disabled. He was then hit and killed by two tractor-trailers and a car, authorities said.

The drivers of those vehicles are said to be cooperating with state police, according to NJ.com.

Scott was listed on the cheer team’s roster for the past two years, UK Athletics spokesperson Guy Ramsey told the Kernel. Scott was an active member of the cheer team during his entire career at UK. He was also listed on Syracuse University’s cheer team during the 2015-16 school year.
