Former Morehead State coach agrees to diversion program
EVANSVILLE, In. (WEHT/WTVQ) – Former Morehead State basketball coach Sean Woods will take part in a six-month pre-trial diversion program as part of his guilty plea to misdemeanor battery charges, according to a report by WEHT-TV in Evansville, Indiana.
Woods was in court in Evansville on Monday in connection to allegations that he abused two of his Morehead State players during halftime of a game against the University of Evansville in November of last year.
Woods resigned as head coach a month later.
As part of the diversion program, if Woods doesn’t get in any trouble during the six-month program, the battery charges against him will be dropped.
If there are any violations of the diversion program, he would be due back in court September 8, 2017, according to WEHT-TV.
