Former Madison County Schools Asst. Principal Arrested Tuesday

A former Central Kentucky principal was arrested Tuesday for charges including sexual abuse and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Joy ‘Alison’ Hayes was an assistant principal at Madison Southern High School, Madison County Public Schools Community Education Director Erin Stewart said.

According to the Madison County Jail Website, Hayes was arrested Tuesday and charged with first degree sexual abuse, fourth degree assault, unlawful transaction with a minor and tampering with a witness.

The school district said Hayes resigned from her position in December 2013 to take another job outside the district.

Archived news releases show prior to working for Madison County Public Schools, Hayes served as a middle school principal in the Fayette County Public School System.
