Former Lexington Fire Captain Dies in Crash

GLASGOW, Ky. (WTVQ)- A newspaper report from Glasgow says it was a former Lexington Fire captain who died in a motorcycle crash.

Max Hellmueller was the retired captain. Reports from The Glasgow Daily Times say he was driving his motorcycle on Highway 68 near Glasgow, Tuesday morning when he tried to pass a construction grader. According to the report in the paper, the grader turned in front of Hellmueller, he hit the grader and was thrown from his motorcycle.

Hellmueller died at a hospital from his injuries.
