Former Knox Co. magistrate arrested on federal drug charges
KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have announced the arrest of a former Knox County magistrate.
Police say Jerry “Rabbit” Cox was arrested on a federal indictment warrant for distribution of a controlled substance – hydrocodone.
According to investigators, the alleged transaction took place while Cox was a sitting magistrate.
Cox turned himself into the Drug Enforcement Agency around 11 a.m. Thursday.
The charges are the result of a joint investigation between Appalachia Narcotics Investigations and the DEA.
