Former deputy jailer in Powell County indicted

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVQ) – A former deputy at the Powell County Detention Center has been indicted by a federal grand jury.

Jamie Derickson is accused of conspiring with inmates at the jail to assault another inmate in a cell and then lying to the FBI about it, according to federal prosecutors.

The indictment alleges this happened August 17, 2016.  The inmate was injured in the attack, according to investigators.  The victim’s name wasn’t released.
