Former Commonwealth’s Attorney Ronnie Goldy sentenced to 41 months in prison

(ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Former Eastern Kentucky Commonwealth’s Attorney Ronnie Goldy, Jr. was sentenced by a federal judge Friday to 41 months in prison.

Goldy was found guilty in February on charges of wire fraud, bribery and the travel act.

He was impeached by the State Senate in March of last year, and was arrested by the FBI in Morehead last August.

Also, Goldy was convicted at the state level in 2023 for offering to help a defendant in exchange for her nude photos.

Goldy was the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Bath, Montgomery, Rowan and Menifee Counties.
