Folklore journal’s new editors are at WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Folk studies faculty at Western Kentucky University have begun their new role as editors of the Journal of American Folklore.

The new editors’ first issue will be published in winter 2016, and they are taking submissions now. Western says they will continue as editors through 2020.

The outgoing editors are from the University of Wisconsin.

The journal publishes scholarly articles and other features, notes and commentaries. It has been the quarterly journal of the American Folklore Society since the society’s founding in 1888.

Western Kentucky University Potter College of Arts & Letters Dean David Lee says having the journal at the university indicates the school’s folk studies program provides leadership in the field.
