Floyd County Schools out for entire week
FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Floyd County Schools will be out of session from Sept. 27 through Sept. 30, with the following two school days already scheduled as Fall Break.
According to a post on Facebook, students will return to school on Tuesday, Oct. 5.
The district has offered for parents to pick up five breakfast meals and five lunches for each child they have enrolled in school Monday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at any Floyd County school.
The closure will give the schools time to do a deep cleaning of the facilities and give the community opportunities to get vaccinated if they choose to do so.
The post urged the community to consider being vaccinated to help the district stay in school.
The days will be added to the back end of the school year’s calendar.
