Floyd County man charged with 20 counts of possessing child porn, 1 count distribution

ST. CATHERINE, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – The Kentucky State Police’s (KSP) Electronic Crime Branch has arrested B.J. Wood, 40, of Floyd County on child pornography-related charges.

Wood’s arrest came from an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch started the investigation following its finding the suspect uploading sexually explicit images online.

The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant for Wood’s cell phone in St. Catherine on July 22. The equipment he used to commit the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Wood has been charged with 20 counts of possessing or viewing matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and one count of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance. These charges are Class-D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison. Wood was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.
