Florence PD looking for woman in connection to office theft

FLORENCE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Florence are asking for help identifying a woman they say stole a wallet from a RE/MAX on Houston Road, and then used the credit cards in it at several places, including a Lexington store.

Officers say on Tuesday, the woman entered the RE/MAX just after 5:00 p.m.  Police say she wandered around the offices, before an broker escorted her downstairs.  Then, investigators say the woman got on an elevator, and went to the second floor offices.  That’s where officers say she went into an office space, found a wallet, and took it.

Investigators say the woman has attempted to make several purchases with the victim’s credit cards – some successful, and some not.  Police say the woman has been able to use the cards at a Target in Lexington, a Luv’s in Sadieville, and a Cracker Barrel in Corbin.

Police say a surveillance picture of the woman has led to several tips that she had been seen going through the men’s locker room in St. Elizabeth Florence, just before coming across the street to the RE/MAX Office.  Officers say they have confirmed that it was, indeed, the same woman.

Officers are asking anyone who can identify the woman to please contact them at (859) 647-5420.
