Florence Crittendon Home In Lexington To Shut Down This Month
The Florence Crittenton Home on West Fourth Street says it doesn’t have the money to keep operating.
It says part of the problem is that the state is no longer referring women and girls to it.
The home says it serves as a safe haven for single, pregnant women.
It also helps girls and women of all ages who are victims of abuse.
It says it’s shutting its doors on November 26th.
The non-profit says its Board of Directors is exploring other possibilities for the home’s use so that it can continue to serve at-risk populations.
