First ever ‘Lunch Lady Hustle’ 5K held in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The first ever ‘Lunch Lady Hustle’ 5K was held today at Lexington’s Coldstream Park.

Organized by the Fayette County School Nutrition Association, it included a 5K as well as a quarter mile kids dash. Apart from paying tribute to lunch lady’s everywhere, the race also raised funding for college and summer camp scholarships for students across the county.

School Nutrition Association President Elect Jane Adams was the head organizer of the event.

“So this is our inaugural race. We decided to do a 5K to promote healthy living and to do something fun in our community.” Adams said.

Adams says that there are plans to make the ‘Lunch Lady Hustle’ a yearly event.
