Firefighters have to cut roof off SUV to free injured driver

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – An elderly driver was injured Friday afternoon when he suffered a medical emergency while driving on a residential street, struck and parked car and flipped his car.

Lexington firefighters had to cut the driver from his Buick SUV after it flipped in front of 612 Parkside just north of Cabot Street just after 1:30 p.m.

The older driver suffered some kind diabetic emergency, firefighters said at the scene, and his SUV hit a parked SUV, pushing it into a work truck, before flipping.

The SUV that was struck was three days old, according to witnesses.

The mna suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
