Firefighters Battle Fire and Cold In Winchester
It wasn’t just a fire crews had to battle Tuesday in Clark county, it was also the elements.
Firefighters said multiple calls came in about flames shooting from the front of a home at 165 Winn Avenue in Winchester just before 1:30 a.m.
When fire crews got there, they quickly upgraded the fire to a second alarm, bringing in extra crews.
Officials said four people inside were able to get out safely, thanks to a working smoke detector.
But as firefighters battled the intense fire, they also had to battle the cold.
Crews were rotated to fight the fire and a rehab center was set up so firefighters could get warmed up.
The fire is under investigation.
