Fire kills 1 at Rockcastle County residence

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (AP) — A central Kentucky man has died in a residential fire.

Kentucky State Police say 55-year-old Morris Cromer of Mount Vernon died in the fire Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported shortly before 8 a.m. EST on Low Gap Road in Rockcastle County. Police said Cromer’s body was found in the bedroom area.

Foul play isn’t suspected, but the cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday in Frankfort.
