Fire in Lexington kills two dogs

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington Fire Department is investigating a fire that occurred Saturday morning that left two animals dead.

Crews were called to the 800 block of Marblehead Drive just after 11 for a house fire.

Battalion Chief Matt Galati says a neighbor reported seeing the smoke.

Upon arrival, crews found a significant amount of fire inside the home.

Chief Galati says two dogs died from the fire. Another dog and a turtle were removed from the home and are alive.

Galati said the fire caused extensive damage to the home.

No Lexington fire department personnel injuries were reported.

Fire investigators also responded to the scene.
