Fire call at same house two days in a row

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Fire Department was called out to a house fire in the 100 block of Swigert Avenue for the second day in a row.

The first fire call was Tuesday for a mulch fire at the home.

The second call came in around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday after the homeowner reported smelling smoke in the house.

Firefighters say the smoke was coming from a small fire inside a wall of the home, which crews had to knock out to get to the fire.

The homeowner and her pets got out safely, according to investigators.

The cause of Wednesday’s fire is still under investigation.
