Fire damages two Lexington homes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A late-night fire in Lexington is being called suspicious.

Firefighters were called to 442 Kenton Street just before 12 a.m. Friday and found a fire burning between two homes, shooting up to the roof line.

That fire burned part of the exterior on both homes, as well as some siding.

It also damaged electrical wiring outside one of the homes.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock the fire down before it spread.

The owner of one of the homes says he was sleeping at the time of the fire and woke up to a popping sound.

He told fire crews the fire may have been set on purpose.

Investigators are looking into it.
