Fire crews battle house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky, (WTVQ) – A living room and parts of a kitchen caught fire in a Lexington home this morning on East Tiverton Way.

Lexington Firefighters say they got the call a little after 2:00 a.m.

Crews say when they arrived on scene the home was vacant and no one was inside.

They say the fire caused minor damage to the living room and also burned parts of the kitchen.

Firefighters say the fire did not spread any farther throughout the home and did not reach the bedrooms or the basement.

According to Lexington Police, the intersection of Tiverton Way and Wem Road was blocked off shortly after the incident which allowed fire crews enough time to put the fire out.

Fire investigators say they are still trying to figure out what caused the fire.
